Seeker FIshing Rods

Seeker rods integrate the benefits of both materials, making for a light, strong and flexible rod with characteristics of glass and graphite; suitably named Black Steel. Seeker’s technique entails laying the E-Glass in one direction while the graphite is laid in another, producing a counter action that prevents the rod fibers from buckling over.

The guides are stainless steel coated in titanium and are incredibly strong, corrosion resistant and easily bear the stress of big fish. For your comfort these rods come equipped with very soft grips, another innovative incorporation by Seeker. The hypalon material is very easy to rinse clean, does not trap or hold debris like conventional foam, and as for fish scales and slim—well they just seem to come off with no hassle. The fore grip on this rod also provides ample room for leveraging that big fish to submission.

It is a west coast rod design, but from Florida to Maine it gets the job done and West coast well they already know the deal.

Seeker Fishing Rods and Wahoowaterworld.com

Rods:  Seeker will make you do the Wahoo!

Super Seeker, Black Steel, Blue Lightening, Hercules, Black Classic, Seeker Classic, Stealth, Rail Boss, Pinhead, React Rods, Paul Elias ,Tommy Martin Bass Rods Kneelin and Reelin, Alabama Rig rods, and all these rods, are from what started as a boutique rod builder in Southern California that has its roots in the salt water heavy rod market. www.wahoowaterworld.com carries the full line of Seeker rods.

People have pretty strong feelings about things and its usually for a reason. If you like them then fish them. Just when a builder steers you to a custom rod because they kept coming back broke well all I needed to know. Let’s say you needed a light popper and instead of pushing a blank that the big rod companies sells he steers you toward a rod you have never heard of. If you catch  Pacific Grouper, Yellowtail, Wahoo and a Yellow fin or blue fin tuna  on 60# -unlimited or a Sea bass trip. You can choose from a rod that meets the need from Seeker Rods and you do not have to be lost in all the talk about which rod can handle the work off shore or inshore. Seeker is one of my favorite rods made for large/head boat fishing with a  Soft tip. Many of the blanks are heavier than most but it has more S glass and graphite than most do also.

Seeker rods on the East Coast covers a huge segment of the bottom fishing population  and are  fishing Seeker and Hercules models. Hercules remains a leader in bottom fishing rod and used more than any other.

The only true way to find the rod that is a good fit for you is to fish with as many as you can get your hands on, a angler can never have enough rods,  fill up the garage as most of use so and you can check out blogs and testimonials but fishing with a rod is the only way to really know. Black steel seeker and I did battle with a 30 pound grouper off the big bend in Northwest Florida. Seeker will make the Wahoo come out in you guaranteed.

When fishing SW Florida during April through the summer I tend to motor a long way due to shallow water and the movement of the larger fish to deeper water. When you have to make long runs you  equipment means everything , Reliability, Durability, and strength , plus can it take the punishment. There’s something special about catching grouper, and big jacks  in the gulf off Florida, . The thrill  gets the adrenaline pumping and nothing can stop the fun faster than losing a big fish to the rocks because the rod failed..

My first impression of the Seeker Black Steel was a medium fast action rod that quickly stiffens up and is designed for turning that large fish in the right direction, the old timers will tell you it is about the upper third of the rod take it lay it flat and see how much weight it takes to bend the rod 2 feet and does it stay in the upper 1/3 of the rod when it bends. If it does that you have a rod that is ready to rumble with the big boys and girls and the power is in the lower 1/3 of the rod and failure is less likely. Black Steel from Seeker will out perform your expectations. We have since put the Wahoo on some Cobia on markers in the 90-120lb range and it will get you screaming Wahoo. Seeker has it right and Wahoowaterworld.com knows it we live it and fish it,

This rod simply impressed me through every movement of that catch. It was love at first bite!

Seeker builds some of the most  functional rods the market and by the way they have the bling to boot.. They are all high performance rods built using Seeker's proprietary blend of material and technology, and detail to craftsmanship that is the roots of the once Boutique builders from SoCal. So do not take my word for it , if you fish from Bass to Billfish, to bottom machines, the Seeker line is right there in the pack and if you do not want to be just another rod in the boat be a Seeker fan and look at Wahoowaterworld.com

Phenix Rods and Wahoowaterworld.com

Phenix Rods

The rod that is chosen by every angler is as personal as the clothes they wear. It is about feel, looks, sensitivity, strength, durability, color, weight, brand appeal, and the application for fishing. The most important thing for every angler is confidence. If you start a comparison of fishing rods you will get opinions from almost everyone and the reasons will be one of the listed. If you fish on the west coast whether salt water or fresh water, trout, calico, sea bass, or offshore, Phenix rods are usually in the conversation. Wahoowaterworld has like everyone else a opinion and it is back by what we see from all the famous brands like Penn, Abu, Seeker ,Loomis, St Croix,G13,Powell,Cashion,Big Bear, Irod, ALX, Kistler, Duckett, or even the Bass Pro rods made over in china. All these companies and rods have a great product and a following of anglers that are fans. What we tried to do at Wahoowaterworld  is take a unbiased look at the Phenix rods product and form our own take on the brand.

A phenix rod has custom rod roots and everyone today uses the word even when the product has no custom components or qualities to it. Why because quality in a fishing rod is key to marketing any fishing rod. So we thought we would just make a case for Phenix rods and do it based on purely the facts and let you decide whether Phenix rods are worth a close look the next time you consider a rod that you would be proud to own and would provide you with the action, and set up that matches you preferred fishing style.

ROD BLANKS MAKE UP 70% of any fishing rod and dictates the price of the rod so what does that mean. Well if you are looking at comparing a rod which company is constantly trying to improve and changing the blank to match the fishing you do or is just the name on the blank that matters.

FRESHWATER: The Phenix Ultra™ is composed of a proprietary blend of materials from Toray, the world leading manufacturer of Carbon Fibers. Utilizing Toray's unique M40J, 55Msi Carbon Fiber, along with an exceptional balance of other high strength T Series Graphite, you get enhanced tensile and compressive strength while conserving the physical nature of the rod. As a result, Phenix creates an extraordinary blank that is phenomenally light and strong with Ultra performance, all features demanded by the most any angler.

Phenix's Composite X has a rod that should be the industry standard in a crank bait rod. The new Composite X is the traditional execution of S-Glass/Graphite to insure the optimum presentation of the crankbait while delivering a solid feedback of a graphite backbone.

The K2 Only the best in mind, the K2 rod blanks are constructed with q proprietary blend of composite material from Toray, the world leading manufacturer of elite carbon fiber material. Utilizing cutting edge rod blank technology, Toray's T-46 Ton composite is the core of what sets it  apart from the competition. Our unique layering process combined with detailed construction results in a rod blank that has exceptional balance and sensitivity. Additionally, the lower rod end is reinforced to increase strength for better back bone performance while not adding considerable weight or bulk diameter. Anglers expect the best, the K2 rod blank series delivers.

SALTWATER: A new generation of saltwater blanks has been born. Using Toray's high strength Carbon Fibers, Phenix Rods has created with a unique layering process and a "secret sauce" resin. This combination of aerospace technology allowed us to fabricate a super strong blank that has a thinner diameter and weighs considerably less than any other rods in its class. We have seen the weight and strength comparisons, if you fish with a broom stick saltwater rod the Phenix Saltwater rods are worth a close look, they are not glass or scrimp down so the price can be reduced to 99.00 these are custom characteristics and go right to the roots of Phenix Rods quality process and engineering.

The Phenix Hybrid is the world's first fully woven Carbon Fiber blank. The blank is a unique blend of high strength woven Carbon Fiber and Kevlar. This innovative combination of materials is the latest technology from the aerospace and automotive industry. After years of R&D, Phenix has finally successfully applied this technology into fishing rod blank applications. Engineered to the concept of being lightweight yet unbelievably strong, the Phenix Hybrid delivers an action that is far superior to any traditional glass or graphite blank.

At the heart of some of the best known quality rods over the last 3 decades all started with the Salmon and steelhead tradition. Why these rods have long blanks, extraordinary action, and taper, and have to be strong to boot. Phenix works with their strength in blank engineering and long length to make some of the latest and coolest looking rods in this category. With the length of rods anglers want growing to 8-9 foot this is a area you need to look closely. Remember strength, weight, and diameter being smaller is at the roots of Phenix rods custom roots.

Trifecta Blank Series – Salmon and steelhead angling specialist! Designed by anglers, the Trifecta blanks have met the needs for your everyday salmon and steelhead fishing challenges. Manufactured with 40 Ton composite and carbon fiber woven materials, the Trifecta rods provide a fishing rod that is very sensitive, yet durable and strong. Clearly, when fishing for steelhead and salmon, you need a blank that has the ideal action and is able to detect the slightest bite. Once the action starts, you want assurance that the blank will allow you to fight your fish, without fear of losing your fish.

When it comes to ultra-light high quality rods there is no match to Phenix rods,if you love the trout actions and even are  master of crappie and want the rod of a lifetime the Elixer,Iron feather or Mirage are second to none. bon Fiber we called Net V. Traditional glass blanks tend to be heavy, thicker in diameter and lacks backbone. The Net V gives the Mirage a very soft and forgiving action while maintaining a solid backbone. The thin diameter of the Net V blank permits the Mirage to be extremely light and balanced. The Mirage series features a 2 piece option that breaks from just above the handle. This allows for compact storage and travel while ensuring the performance of a one piece rod.    Advanced Carbon Fiber blank composition,  Two piece rods break from above handle - preserving 1 piece action,   Exotic burl reel seats with double locking nut,  Unique custom cork and EVA handle

Tycoon Tackle Premium Rods and Wahoowaterworld.com

Occasionally the course of history is altered by the convergence of conditions and events that indelibly and permanently change how it develops. During the convergence of these conditions, entrepreneurs seize the day to make their mark. Frank O’Brien and Tycoon Tackle came on the scene just as the most flourishing period of saltwater fishing was taking place and their unprecedented innovations were integral to the sport of big game angling as it entered its “gilded age.” The “Gilded Age of Big Game Angling” was made possible, in part, by the fishing rods and other products manufactured by O’Brien. Along the way, the company became a respected leader in industry, a respected corporate citizen, helped win two wars, and impacted people in a way that is still discussed seventy-five years later. This is the story of a successful company that is only possible in America, qualifying it to be considered an “American success story.” It spans from the “age of innocence” to the present day. The men and women who made Tycoon Tackle changed a sport and many lives as well. This is their story. In many of us the ability to learn and understand the evolution of fishing and the companies that made it great is a important part of our passion. Wahoowaterworld has long believed that you have to give back to receive and we are proud and honored to offered such an Iconic brand in Tycoon. Stanford Lures made in USA and Wahoowaterworld.com

Stanford Lures are made of 100% natural cedar from northwestern United States. These real cedar fishing lures produce a more natural sound and hunting action than other crank baits in the fishing market. Stanford fishing lures have more natural buoyancy and a uniquely tighter wobble due to the denseness of the high grade cedar used in the fishing lure. This helps Stanford fishing lures suspend for longer periods of time in the strike zone, on a stop and go retrieve and/or when they come into contact with cover. Stanford Lures puts nothing but the highest grade components in all our fishing lure products and all our fishing lures are made 100% in the USA. Each Stanford fishing lure is hand painted with its own custom paint in one of the ten proven fish catching colors. Every Stanford fishing lure is hand tuned, by Dieter Stanford himself, before it becomes a quality Stanford fishing lure. From the Deep Big Cedar grinding on the ledges in the summertime, to the Top-water around beds in the spring, to the Razor shad on those frosty fall mornings, Stanford Lures has you covered.
