Will the Real Gary Loomis Rod Please Stand-up

WILL THE REAL GARY LOOMIS ROD PLEASE STAND -UP

Having, heard all the stories and the banter on forums and websites all over in the fishing world.

I decided to take a look into the G-Loomis vs the North Fork Composites and where  a real Gary Loomis blank is made today, not the rods made years  past before Shimano purchased G-Loomis from Gary Loomis. So here is what I know so far.

G-Loomis yes has a facility in Woodland Washington and the address is G.Loomis, Down River Drive, Woodland, WA and the link to see that on Google maps is Link:

North Fork Composites has a facility in Woodland Washington and the location is 2617 NE 434th St Woodland, WA 98674 and the link for that facility.

Gary Loomis left G.Loomis and got involved with a fly and fishing lures and was sued by Shimano and spent over 250,000 in legal fees and finally settled with Shimano.

Gary continued and thought that he could help out the industry that made him the legend. So the best thing to do for Gary Loomis was to make blanks for custom rod builders again and see if he could make the magic happen twice in a lifetime. He also does a lot of work in the Salmon and Steelhead conversation area.

“That’s where Gary Loomis is today, he is back at it, building the best blanks in the world so anglers can build the best rods possible.

Ever industry is always changing come changes positive, and others are not and just noise.  Sometimes blanks are a story more than some new technology and that is all marketing. North Fork Composites, was started and is based on the things that have over time worked and over time have proven again and again just by incorporating the latest materials and techniques.  One of the biggest challenges for North fork Composites has been finding good partners to get supplies from for North Fork Composites some of that maybe due to Gary Loomis Standards others maybe in my opinion Shimano and the 800lb Gorilla pushing  weight around to stop the Real Gary Loomis from standing up. No proof of that but just a hunch. I am not an insider by any stretch but been around for a while in business, maybe it is something else.

“It’s been a while since Gary jumped back in the industry and now that he is back. He has a robust market for Salmon, steelhead and Carp rods in country across the pond, has taped into Russia. He has found is way and is back dealing with people from the past in the supply chain for raw material. North Fork Composites has performance rods with materials that offer 20% increase over most graphite’s being used by the major manufacturers. North Fork Composites has a rod line that is definition of premium EDGE RODs.

Gary Loomis is alive and well after beating cancer, but make no mistake he signed on and help companies like Temple Fork Outfitters who make noise about having a Gary Loomis Blank, but Temple Fork is a Value Line with a lot of Entry level products, the real Gary Loomis does not make blanks in China and it is on the Temple Fork products (Made In China) there is a place for all that, but when it comes to making a real Gary Loomis product that comes from North Fork Composite. At least that’s the way I see it, but what do I know I am just an Angler.

Conclusion: All the stories about Gary Loomis making G-Loomis Rods in Woodland Washington this is not true, Gary Loomis does not  work for Shimano, the Real Gary Loomis is NFC and even though change is going to happen, I am one of those who would like something’s to change and other traditions to stay.

Maybe old fashion maybe not, but I do know USA MADE, NFC North Fork Composite will the Real Gary Loomis please stand up!
