Using hollow body frogs is one of most exciting ways to catch lots of bass, pike, and Muskie during late spring and a;; the way through the summer. There are many different ways to use frogs

Most anglers’ fish a frog is by slowly twitching it over and through thick, heavy vegetation. There is a time in about May that the frog bite really turns on in the south and about 2-3 weeks later as you move north. The Frogs get active as the water temps rise and this creates easy targets for many fish.   Now that you know where the fish are, we will talk about catching them. Just cast your frog around the changes in structure whether it is pads or grass and some lakes the stumps. Frogs can create awesome action in open water as well. Remember walk the dog or walking the Frog in this case.

Use a walk-walk-walk-pause cadence. Change it up until you start getting strikes.

The best frogs for walking thee frog are narrow bodies and flat sides. If you want to use as a popper type retrieve use the models with the big mouth and wider bodies that create the popping and noise in the retrieve.

The right tackle is critical in frog fishing. Wrong tackle you will give up after missing and or losing a lot of nice fish. Have a great frog rod at lease 7ft Heavy `action minimum with fast or extra fast action. Need a lot of speed on your reel retrieve we recommend at least 7:1 retrieve speed. Check out the Revo Winch, and also look at the Powell frog rods, and also the Cashion Frog Rods.

Line:  Always use braid and you can cross over the 50lb to recommended 65 lb. braid to pull fish out of the weeds and vegetation and or cover.]
